Sniffer dogs have indicated you for a good time. Step into our magical mystery van where you have no rights but the right to remain fabulous.

Squat and Cough is a riotous romp in the tradition of Reg Livermore, Benny Hill, Dick Emery and other revered low humourists. It’s chock full of profanities, classic songs and boasts a generous sprinkling of bare bums. Brent Thorpe’s alter ego – Derrick Lovecock – takes us on a mind bending journey through his psyche and the old days of Sydney’s gay scene through to the 2019 Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. From snorting cocaine on the bar of Oxford Street’s infamous Patchs Disco to being cavity searched in a police van outside Sydney’s Entertainment Quarter, Derrick finds himself in a world that no longer makes any sense to him. But he refuses to ‘squat to cough’ for any man without a fight – or at least a cocktail first.

“Done brilliantly in the worse possible taste … the most fantastically foul thing at the Fringe” The Scotsman, Edinburgh Fringe 2015

“As powerful as it is perverse … Faustian… relevant… layered, clever, gruesome, funny…” Scotsgay, Edinburgh Fringe 2015
